Like all things in life, events go through their own cyclical trends. Some become firm fixtures on the event landscape, featuring at events for decades, while others come and go in the blink of an eye.

In 2023, we are seeing some strong trends shining through thus far from vibrant colors to interactive experiences and event landscapes are once again evolving with fresh approaches that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.

1. Barbiecore aesthetic

Come on Barbie, let’s go party! This viral trend is not only taking the fashion world by storm but also the event styling one.

With the hotly anticipated release of the ‘Barbie’ movie later this year, staring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, this trend has been on the rise since 2022 and if you weren’t aware, Barbie is definitely having a moment!

With the aesthetic notion that ‘more is more’ and the bolder hue of pink the better this is one dynamic style trend not to be missed if you are wanting to leave a lasting impression on guests.


2. Bright and bold

Move over boring neutrals and pedestrian pastels, there’s a new kid on the decor block and it’s packing a palette punch!

Yes that’s right, bright colours are back baby! No longer are event organisers confined to the constrains of muted tones, this year you’ll see vibrant bursts of eye-catching colour taking precedence at events everywhere.

Our favourite way to express this trend is through stunning flower arrangements. they’ll be sure to add that wow-factor to your event.

Not only will we see more colour splashed about in our florals but bolder varieties chosen for their uniqueness too. Think iris’, tulips, orchids and birds of paradise…… the bolder the more beautiful we say!


3. Gram-worthy installations

Question…if there’s no gram-worthy photo op at a party, did it even happen?

We can thank Gen-Z for this one. While traditionally event planners would splurge on the venue, food and attire, many are now going that little bit extra to create a really wow-worthy moment to fully immerse guests in the experience and ensure their celebration is truly picture perfect.

We are talking arched walkways, ceiling installations, floating centrepieces, personalised ice sculptures and mesmerizing 3D photo booths, the bigger and more outrageous the better for that all important ‘grammable moment that will mean your event goes down in history (and the gram) as one of the best.

4. Pearls as decor

I know what you’re thinking……..nana called and she wants her pearls back. But in all fairness, this look is killing it this season, adding a touch of elegance and class to decor across the event scene.

Pearls are breaking out from their décolletage confines and taking centre stage as one of this years hottest trends. You’ll see these beauties gracing centrepieces, draping cakes, chairs and archways alike……the world really is your oyster (see what we did there?!) when it comes to where these versatile pops of sophistication can be utilised.


5. Cocktails as a feature

Champagne towers have been a feature of events for many years and although we don’t think these towers of sparkling sophistication are going anywhere fast they have taken on a transformation this year and we are here for it.

Along with the beloved traditional beverage of choice, you will see martinis, aperol spritz’s and signature cocktails served up as a twist on the classic. Some have even taken this concept a step further opting for interactive cocktail feature walls that reflect their events theme and colour palette while providing once again that all important photo-op for guests to strike a pose.
