We’re looking for an experienced banquet duty manager to lead our front-of-house teams.
About the role
This role is a full-time position, reporting to our operations manager.
As a banquet duty manager, you’ll oversee the seamless delivery of events and racedays, ensuring guest satisfaction, smooth operations, and compliance with licensing and health & safety requirements. You’ll be the key contact for clients onsite, while providing leadership to front-of-house and bar staff.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and motivate front-of-house and bar teams during events and racedays
- Ensure event spaces are set up and delivered to the highest standard
- Act as the main client and guest liaison during events
- Oversee stock, equipment, and event timelines
- Maintain compliance with liquor licensing and health & safety obligations
- Report on event outcomes and improvements
What we’re looking for
- (Essential) Current Duty Manager Certificate or LCQ + Manager’s Cert
- 3+ years hospitality or event experience, incl. 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and people management skills
- A professional individual who is calm under pressure and guest-focused
- Flexible and reliable – must be available for weekends, late nights, public holidays, and major racedays(Boxing Day & New Year’s Day are essential)
- Full NZ driver’s license & work eligibility
(First Aid Certificate, cocktail/barista experience, and event operations knowledge are a bonus.)
